I hit my 1 year mark in Taipei. Time flies by and not at all, at the same time. I have to reflect and be thankful for all the amazing friends I’ve made so far. Taiwan, the people, the friends, the city, treat you like family and for that I feel so blessed.  To my relatives, my aunts, my church friends, my music friends, and the family at Enjoy, thank you guys. May I continue to soak up this amazing city and country.

So it’s been a while since I’ve had insomnia, this might be my first time this year.

Here are some random thoughts, before I become completely delirious.

1. 1 year ago, I left Los Angeles for Hong Kong, where I spent five days before moving to Taipei, Taiwan. Don’t know if thinking about this is what’s keeping me up, probably not.

2. Amanda Palmer is great. Truly, she embodies the spirit and creativity of good music in the 21st Century. Whenever I get sad and cynical about music, I think of her and feel better.

3. I love T shirts.

4. I love the color yellow.

5. I miss having a library card. Who knows, maybe I’ll pick one up here in Taipei. I do live near 誠品 so that’s almost like having the same thing, except that I’d have to dish out cash and actually buy the books there, lol.

6. Two days ago, I wondered how I could have two degrees and still feel illiterate at life? Today, I’m feeling much better. Haha, God, these random thoughts are getting emo.

7. Chinese is really hard to learn. 上課這麼久了可是有時候我還是覺得我中文根本沒有進步。In other words, while I’ve been studying on an off for almost a year, I still feel like I can barely read.

8. I will never download Candy Crush, it’s just not gonna happen.

9. Haters gonna hate, and potatoes gonna potate, bwuahahahahha.

10. Okay, it’s time to stop the random thoughts post. Woo.

我的好朋友都知道我最喜歡的顏色是黃色。所以上禮拜文音，Echo, 和 Jeric 來我家玩音樂的時候我就馬上想到文音的轉輯裡面的 「黃色夾克」。我們唱了一半我就發現這首很自然地可以轉到「愛是什麼」。

Anyone that knows me, knows that my favorite color is yellow. So last week, when Rachel, Echo and Jeric were hanging out at my place I immediately thought of Rachel’s song ‘Yellow Jacket‘. We were in the middle of singing it when I thought it’d be fun to mash it up with her other song ‘What Is Love‘?

What is love, anyway? Is it a yellow jacket?

Maybe it’s having all your friends come over to hang out, laugh, and play music. I’ve been in Taiwan for almost a year and I’m so happy to have met so many great friends. I love you guys, and I love Taiwan. I know that sounds so cornballz, but it’s true.
