This is the Official Video of my first single, “Wake Up” off my debut album, “American Me”. It was produced and directed by my friend Matt Cozza and features my former Chicago bandmates. “Wake Up” debuted at the Chicago Asian American Film Showcase in April of 2009 and is also being featured at the Philadelphia Asian American Film Festival. Jay Sean is the highest ranking Asian artist in Billboard history! To commemorate the milestone I arranged my own cover of his #1 single. I’ve kept it all acoustic and added a shaker!
When I heard that Maxwell was releasing his album after an 8 year break I got pretty excited. Then “Pretty Wings” came out and I was blown away. As Maxwell is one of my biggest influences, I just had to pay tribute with this cover. I even got my bro to help me out on guitar and back up vocals. Hope you like it!
My good friend Sue Jin and I dropped by our pal Steve Nguyen’s studios and we filmed this impromptu duet of Alicia Keys “If I Ain’t Got You”. Sue Jin is friggin’ awesome, truly, so go check her out. LA people, you can sometimes catch us singing duets together so subscribe to keep up with the latest events.
